Olivia Rodrigo and The 1975 to Headline Glastonbury 2025

Published March 6, 2025

Organizers have announced that US pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo and British band The 1975 will headline the iconic Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival in the summer of 2025.

Alongside them, popular artist Charli XCX, a five-time Brit Award winner, will perform at the festival's second stage on Saturday, June 28.

Several artists will be making their Glastonbury debuts, including Alanis Morissette, Noah Kahan, Gracie Abrams, Lola Young, and the rising rap star Doechii, who will take charge of the West Holts stage. Other returning acts include Wolf Alice, Wet Leg, Fatboy Slim, and Loyle Carner.

Adding to the excitement, rock legend Neil Young is scheduled to headline on Saturday night, while iconic performer Rod Stewart will fill the Sunday afternoon “legend slot.”

The 1975 Make History

Manchester-based band The 1975, known for their unique blend of dance-rock and electronica, have played several times at Glastonbury, but this will mark their first time headlining. Their music often reflects modern themes, addressing topics like online relationships and personal struggles. Frontman Matty Healy is recognized for his unpredictable stage presence, and recently, he has faced legal issues after a controversial on-stage kiss during a performance in Malaysia, which protested anti-LGBT laws in the country.

Olivia Rodrigo's Stellar Ascent

At just 22 years old, Olivia Rodrigo will be the second-youngest headliner in Glastonbury's history, following Billie Eilish. Rodrigo gained massive popularity in the 2020s with her catchy pop-punk tracks and heartfelt ballads. Her performance at Glastonbury follows a successful tour, amassing $186 million in revenue, and she will also be headlining the British Summer Time festival just before her Glastonbury appearance. During her first Glastonbury performance in 2022, she wowed audiences and highlighted important social issues, dedicating a song to the Supreme Court justices following a significant policy change in the U.S.

Charli XCX's Return

Charli XCX will return to Worthy Farm after gaining attention for her acclaimed album, Brat, which has earned her five Brit Awards. Her set on the Other Stage will allow her to fully engage with the crowd, showcasing the energetic and eclectic style that defines her music. Charli's festival journey has seen her evolve from smaller stages, bringing a blend of pop melodies and club rhythms.

Among the new acts announced for Glastonbury 2025 are Ezra Collective, Jorja Smith, The Libertines, The Maccabees, and The Prodigy. Furthermore, Raye is slated to perform just before Neil Young on Saturday night, following her successful set at the Pyramid Stage two years ago.
