Jay Weinberg, known for his time as the drummer of Slipknot, has revealed his live return to the music scene. The musician is poised to take the stage again following his departure from the iconic metal band in late 2023. Weinberg is set for a comeback performing at the Byron Bay Bluesfest in Australia.

Behind the Drum Kit Once More

Weinberg has made his announcement via Instagram where he expressed his excitement on joining Infectious Grooves. The supergroup, featuring a roster of celebrated artists from bands like Suicidal Tendencies, Faith No More, and Metallica, is scheduled to play at the renowned festival. Weinberg will be sitting in for Avenged Sevenfold's Brooks Wackerman, bringing his distinct talent to the funk metal collective.

Infectious Grooves Lineup

The supergroup's lineup boasts of Mike Muir and Dean Pleasants from Suicidal Tendencies, with Metallica's Rob Trujillo also on board. Adding to this all-star collection is Dave Kushner of Velvet Revolver substituting for Jim Martin. The festival also features other prominent acts that blend roots music and blues, providing a wide array of performances.
