Billie Eilish's Reaction to Doechii's Standout Grammys 2025 Performance
At the Grammys 2025 ceremony held in Los Angeles on February 2, Billie Eilish was among a group of celebrities who expressed their admiration for Doechii’s remarkable performance.
The talented hip-hop artist Doechii took home the prestigious award for Best Rap Album thanks to her mixtape, Alligator Bites Never Heal. She triumphed over renowned competitors like Eminem, J. Cole, and Future. This victory makes Doechii the third woman ever to win this award, following in the footsteps of Lauryn Hill and Cardi B.
However, it was her live performance that truly stole the spotlight that night. The audience, including big names like Jay-Z, SZA, and Eilish, erupted in applause, giving her a standing ovation. When the camera focused on Eilish, her reaction was priceless as she exclaimed, “Oh my God!” in sheer amazement.
Doechii delivered an energetic performance featuring two of her songs: Catfish and Denial Is A River. During the first song, she rapped in front of a massive backlit fan while a team of dancers clad in gray moved energetically behind her. In a more intimate moment, she then transitioned to a ground-level performance of Denial Is A River on a treadmill, captivating the audience with her dynamic stage presence. You can catch a glimpse of her performance in the footage available.
Following her Grammy win, Doechii also released a new track titled Nosebleeds.
In other highlights from the ceremony, singer Taylor Swift was spotted dancing along to Billie Eilish’s live performance of Birds Of A Feather. Eilish performed with her brother, Finneas, as they showcased childhood photos on a screen behind them, featuring scenes from the San Gabriel Mountains and Eaton Canyon in Los Angeles.
This year's event was hosted by comedian Trevor Noah for the fifth consecutive year. The biggest award of the night, Album of the Year, went to Beyoncé for her album Cowboy Carter, marking her first win in this category.
Kendrick Lamar topped the night with the most wins, securing five awards, including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Music Video.
Additionally, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars joined forces for a heartfelt homage to Los Angeles, while the ceremony also raised funds for those affected by recent wildfires. Shakira dedicated her award to her "immigrant brothers and sisters," emphasizing the spirit of solidarity.
A tribute to the legendary Quincy Jones was led by Stevie Wonder, with contributions from Janelle Monáe, and was introduced by Will Smith. For a complete list of winners from the event, you can refer to various sources.
