Published December 5, 2023

Gibraltar is gearing up for a festive season unlike any other, with a calendar full of music and entertainment designed to delight shoppers and party-goers alike. Every Saturday leading up to Christmas, the town will bustle with a variety of performances, concluding with a dynamic New Year's Eve celebration to welcome the year 2024.

Christmas Extravaganza Warms Up the Winter

With the joint efforts of the Ministries of Culture and Business, Gibraltar's town centre will transform into a Christmas extravaganza on December 9 and 16. Visitors can expect an exciting mix of dance, music, and fair attractions. An art and dance market is also set to feature, adding an extra touch of culture to the seasonal shopping experience.

New Year's Eve: A Night to Remember

The local production company GibMedia is preparing a memorable New Year's Eve lineup, including a clock countdown, live bands, and DJs. Hosted by the charismatic duo of GBC CEO James Neish and Miss Gibraltar Faith Torres, the evening will kick off at 10:30 pm. Celebrated bands like Jet Stream and The Jesse Tree will provide a live soundtrack, performing original songs and popular hits. The celebrations will continue into the early hours, with DJs taking the stage to ensure everyone dances their way into the new year.

Emphasizing the significance of these celebrations, Minister for Culture Christian Santos expressed his confidence in the community's desire to come together in celebration. He also highlighted the positive impact such events have on local retail and hospitality sectors, stimulating economic activity. Equally supportive, Minister for Business Gemma Arias Vasquez emphasized the government's commitment to creating a festive atmosphere that encourages local shopping and business.

The anticipation for the New Year's Eve party is especially high as it returns to Casemates Square, a beloved and iconic setting for public festivities in Gibraltar. The community's enthusiasm is mirrored by the government's assurance of a delightfully engaging celebration.
