Published February 2, 2024

Get ready to rock in Torremolinos as the 12th Ruta del Rock, also known as the Rock Route, brings a vibrant music scene to the city's bars and restaurants with over 40 live performances. The musical extravaganza is set to take place across two consecutive weekends, from February 9 to 11 and February 16 to 18, breathing life into the city's commercial activity during the cooler month.

Live Music Across the City

Music enthusiasts can immerse themselves in the rock vibe in various localities such as Playamar, Los Álamos, Centro, and La Carihuela. The gigs are lined up on Fridays and Saturdays from 7 pm to 11 pm, and on Sundays from 5 pm to 9 pm, ensuring the evenings are packed with energetic performances.

A Boost for Local Businesses

Jose Manuel Ruiz Rivas, the Councillor for Events, highlighted the event's shift from May to February, a strategic move to invigorate local businesses during a slower commercial period. He emphasized the anticipated positive impact on the 40+ participating establishments' patronage and profits throughout the event.

Involving residents and tourists alike, the festival is expected to adorn the neighborhoods of Torremolinos with liveliness and a colorful atmosphere, as shared by the councillor.

Diverse Musical Line-Up

An array of establishments, such as Barracuda Roof Top and La Pepa, will host the free concerts, offering attendees a chance to experience a medley of musical styles from rock and pop to soul and jazz. The line-up features a broad spectrum of acts, including Alvarock, Suzette Moncrief, and Soul Station, ready to captivate audiences with their talents.

For those looking to plan their route through the Rock Route, passports detailing the full program will be available before the event kicks off, ensuring everyone can chart their musical journey easily.
