McConnell Air Base Gears Up for Rockfest 2024 with Top Bands

McConnell Air Base is buzzing with excitement as the 22nd Force Support Squadron announces Rockfest 2024 set for May 18th featuring headline acts Everclear, Switchfoot, and Hoobastank. This marks a significant return of live music to the venue, offering a dynamic line-up for rock enthusiasts to enjoy under the stars.

The Line-Up

The night kicks off with Everclear, an iconic band from the '90s, known for hits that captured the essence of alternative rock and grunge. Their musical journey began in Portland, Oregon, and they achieved fame with songs that are now considered classics.

Following Everclear, Switchfoot will take the stage with their compelling alternative rock sound. This San Diego-based band has been a fan-favorite since the release of 'The Beautiful Letdown' and continues to win over audiences with their live performances.

Closing the night, Hoobastank promises to deliver an unforgettable performance. Emerging in the '90s, the Californian group solidified their place in rock history with their eponymous album, featuring the vocals of Doug Robb and powerful instrumentals.

Event Details

The festival's location is perfectly situated between the dining facility and outdoor pool, giving attendees a variety of places to explore. In addition, parking is conveniently located at the Robert J. Dole Center. The festivities commence at 3 p.m. with carnival games and the concert begins at 6 p.m.

Behind the scenes, Rockfest is a collaborative effort, with Tiffany Dalzell, the 22nd FSS community cohesion coordinator, highlighting the joint efforts of various squadrons on base to make this event possible. As with any outdoor event, weather will play a role, but plans include the pool being open and a selection of food and drinks available.
