Published February 1, 2024

Indie band Blossoms are gearing up to showcase their DJ skills at a charity event hosted at Liverpool's Camp and Furnace venue. The group will be part of an impressive roster participating in the Mayoral DJ Battle, featuring the mayors of Liverpool and Manchester. This event, set for Friday, February 2, aims to raise funds to combat homelessness, with proceedings supporting the 'A Bed Every Night' charity. Tickets for this charitable music-filled evening are now for sale.

The five-member band, consisting of Tom Ogden, Charlie Salt, Josh Dewhurst, Joe Donovan, and Myles Kellock, will be joining the fundraising efforts for the third time alongside Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester, and Steve Rotheram, Metro Mayor of Liverpool City Region. The battle will also feature a host of other celebrities and legends set to perform as DJs. Previous battles between Mayors Rotheram and Burnham have been successful, securing over £25,000 last December to help those without homes.

United in Music and Charity

With ties to both Liverpool and Manchester, Blossoms have recently recorded in Liverpool, strengthening their connection to the event. The mayors and participating celebrities are uniting under the common goal of ending homelessness, using music as a catalyst to rally support and funds for those in need in Northwest England.

As part of their latest activities, Blossoms have been announced as headliners for another music event, Club NME, and are preparing for a new album featuring collaborations with Jungle and CMAT. Meanwhile, mayors Burnham and Rotheram highlight the lasting impact of music to bring people together for a cause, tackling one of the most pressing social problems: homelessness.
