Published January 29, 2024

In the vibrant National Panorama Competition, BPTT Renegades have emerged as the frontrunners of the semi final in the large conventional bands category. Their performance has set them apart as they vie for the top position in this prestigious steelpan music contest.

Rival Bands in Close Competition

Hot on the heels of the BPTT Renegades are several fiercely competitive bands. Republic Bank Exodus secured the third position, while a notable four-way tie for fourth place brings together T&Tec Tropical Angel Harps, Shell Invaders Steel Orchestra, Proman Starlift Steel Orchestra, and Desperadoes Steel Orchestra, all demonstrating the depth of talent in the event.

Medium Band Category Winners

In the medium band category, Tobago’s very own Katzen Jammers clinched victory, showcasing their exceptional musical prowess. Following them, NGC Couva Joylanders claimed the second spot, and Curepe Scherzando Steel Orchestra landed in third, contributing to a spectacular show of musicianship.

The semi final round took place at a bustling Queens Park Savannah, with the event kicking off at 2 p.m. and continuing for a full twelve hours of exhilarating performances. Ken Simmons, the house announcer, had the honor of declaring the results to an excited crowd.
