Pulp Announces Their First Full Concert of 2024 in Amsterdam

Published March 11, 2024

Pulp, the renowned Britpop group, has revealed they will be performing their first complete concert of the year 2024, with a scheduled gig in Amsterdam that is set to occur this spring. The eagerly awaited event will be hosted at the AFAS Live venue on May 24, marking the continuation of what the band refers to as their 'encore' performances.

Reviving The Classics

Jarvis Cocker, the charismatic frontman of Pulp, took to social media to share the news with fans on March 11th. He expressed the band's excitement to bring their music back to life, emphasizing the importance of these songs being experienced by audiences, particularly now. Cocker warmly invited fans to join them, adding, "Come out & have some fun with us. You deserve it."

Ticket Information

Those eager to get their hands on tickets can do so starting Friday, March 15th at 10 am local time. To enhance chances of obtaining a ticket, fans are encouraged to sign up to Pulp's mailing list by the end of Tuesday, March 12th. By doing so, they will receive a pre-sale link that will become active for 24 hours commencing at 10 am CET on Wednesday, March 13th.

Encore Tour Continues

The announcement of the Amsterdam concert follows the confirmation of Pulp's reunion, which was initially announced in October 2022. The tour has been met with much excitement and has included a selection of festival appearances slated for 2024 such as Øya in Oslo, Primavera Sound in Barcelona, Flow Festival in Helsinki, and Way Out West in Sweden.

Pulp's Finsbury Park concert in the previous year received high praise, with many hoping the reunion would last indefinitely. Additionally, Jarvis Cocker has hinted at the possibility of extending the band's touring plans into the next year, aligning with his efforts to consider more environmentally friendly touring practices.

Environmental Concerns and New Music

Recently, Cocker has been involved in 'Biophobia', a project focused on environmental themes depicted through what he calls a "PowerPoint presentation." This presentation, which features a new song, reflects Cocker’s exploration of nature and environmental issues.

In terms of new material, Pulp has introduced a new song called 'Background Noise' during a performance in Mexico last December. While there has been speculation regarding new releases from Pulp, it remains uncertain when new music will arrive.
