Published January 16, 2024

Giant Music, a branch of the independent label sector under The Azoff Company, has welcomed Nate Albert to its executive team as the newly minted President.

With a solid background in A&R, augmented by his insights as a former artist, Albert transitions to Giant Music after an impactful tenure at Warner Records. While there, his keen eye for talent led him to sign Grammy nominee Omar Apollo and the noteworthy Teddy Swims. His previous A&R stints at Capitol Records and Republic Records were marked by significant signings including global sensation The Weeknd and celebrated singer-songwriter Maggie Rogers.

In addition to these accomplishments, Albert has collaborated with a roster of celebrated artists such as Dua Lipa, Marshmello, Roddy Ricch, Calum Scott, Troye Sivan, NF, Cold War Kids, and Jon Bellion. His early foray into the music industry started when he co-founded the multi-Platinum band The Mighty Mighty Bosstones at just 13, contributing as guitarist, songwriter, and co-producer.

Irvying & Jeffrey Azoff of The Azoff Company have expressed their excitement about Albert’s new role, stating they feel fortunate to have him join their 'Giant family'. They added a touch of humor to their announcement, jesting that the news should be shared swiftly, lest Albert reconsider his acceptance of the position.

Albert will be part of a talented team at Giant Music, including industry notables like co-founder Shawn Holiday, Matt LaMotte, and Charles Hamilton. His appointment is seen as a critical advancement in Giant Music's pursuit of becoming a leading label, with Holiday commenting on the unique perspective Albert brings as a former artist.

Commenting on his new opportunity, Albert shared his eagerness to shape the label while highlighting the Azoff's dedication to artist rights. Albert aspires to establish Giant Music not just as another industry player, but as a genuine home for the creative community.

The Azoff Company, aside from housing Giant Music as an independent record label, boasts a varied portfolio including Full Stop Management, Global Music Rights, Oak View Group, and Iconic Artists Group. The latter has lately obtained the music rights of the rock icon Graham Nash and a lineup of legendary artists such as Cher, Dean Martin, David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Nat King Cole, Linda Ronstadt, and Joe Cocker. Following the buyout of its joint venture shares with The Madison Square Garden Company (MSG) in 2018, The Azoff Company has made a significant investment of $125 million.
