Maxine Pace Crowned Winner in the Fourth Edition of Mużika Mużika

Maxine Pace emerged victorious in the fourth annual Mużika Mużika festival, a celebration of Maltese music that spanned three nights and concluded on Saturday. The festival featured various Maltese artists who competed for prestigious prizes and recognition within the local music scene.

Grand Finale

With her performance of Mhux tal-Aħħar, for which Cyprian Cassar composed the music and Emil Calleja Bayliss penned the lyrics, Pace claimed the top prize. Overcome with emotion, Pace expressed her disbelief at the win and extended her gratitude towards her fan base and her supporters for their encouragement throughout the competition.

Runners-up and Prizes

The runner-up was the musical act Kantera with their song Vjaġġ Sabiħ, featuring music by both Kantera and Micimago and lyrics by Joe Julian Farrugia. They were followed by third-place winner Cliff Zammit Stevens, whose performance of Fil-Qrib, accompanied by music from Philip Vella and lyrics also by Farrugia, captivated the audience. The prizes were significant, with €20,000 awarded to the winner, €10,000 to the second place, and €5,000 to the third position.

Special Honors

Besides the main winners, the festival also commemorated exceptional contributions in other spheres of music production. Conductor Aurelio Belli received accolades for the best musical arrangement with the song 3 ta’ Ġunju 2021, while singer Giada achieved recognition for the best interpretation with the piece Imħabba Vera.
