101st Summer Music Festival at Redlands Bowl Announces Full Lineup

The 101st Summer Music Festival at Redlands Bowl is set to captivate audiences with a variety of performances, kicking off on June 21. This summer, the festival will see the return of the cherished musical 'Mary Poppins', along with fan-favorite acts such as Brass Transit, the renowned Chicago tribute band, and the Air Force Band of the Golden West.

Opening the festival on June 21 is the acclaimed Daniel Emmett, known from his PBS special 'Simply the Best'. Emmet, a classical chart-topper and international performer, will be accompanied by conductor Nolan Livesay, making for an unforgettable start to the festival.

Beverly Noerr, executive director of Redlands Bowl Performing Arts, expressed excitement for the season, promising an array of shows suitable for all tastes. Performances are scheduled for Tuesdays and Fridays until August 16, with a brief hiatus on July 5. The venue, located at 25 Grant St., is set to provide free entertainment, although donations are gratefully accepted. Attendees should note that seating is on a first-come, first-served basis and shows commence at 8 p.m.

The musical spectacle 'Mary Poppins' is slated for four shows from July 25 to July 28, with an additional public dress rehearsal on July 23.

Highlighted Performances at Redlands Bowl

The lineup for the season includes an exciting range of performances from various genres. Noteworthy acts include the Young Artist Concerto Competition, Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives, Americana Women, and Tito Puente Jr. with his Latin Jazz Orchestra. More eclectic beats will resonate through the venue with performances by The Gentlemen's Quartet, Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band, and Forever Motown. The festival also features cultural delights such as Tango Del Cielo and the vibrant Puahi's Polynesian Dancers.

The grand finale, scheduled for August 16, promises to be a spectacular event with a fireworks display and the Redlands Symphony, conducted by Ransom Wilson. The finale will feature the music of Danny Elfman and showcase a performance of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No.2 by guest artist Chaeyoung Park.
