Disneyland Celebrates Black History Month with Celebrate Soulfully Festival

Published February 1, 2024

Disneyland is paying tribute to Black History Month with a vibrant music and food festival throughout February. The Celebrate Soulfully event is set to bring the richness of Black culture to attendees through authentic Southern cuisine and lively musical performances.

Music That Moves the Soul

The festival will feature the return of the Celebrate Gospel musical tribute to the Fantasyland Theatre, a tradition well over a decade old. On February 17th and 24th, marquee performances will include gospel music heavy-hitters Marvin Sapp and Tasha Cobbs respectively, along with contributions from local Southern California choirs. Every night of the month, the Downtown Disney stage will host an array of musicians showcasing a wide range of styles from Gospel to Soul to Doo-Wop, further energizing the festive atmosphere.

Taste the Flavor of Heritage

Complementing the melodies, select restaurants across Disneyland and the Disneyland Hotel will serve up special Black History Month menu items. These offerings include a savory mix of traditional dishes like Deviled Eggs, Fried Chicken, BBQ Brisket, Sweet Potato Pie and more—each adding a distinct flavor to the celebration of Black culture.

Culinary Delights Across the Park

Diners can look forward to delectable menus featuring special dishes at various eateries, from the Cafe Orleans and River Belle Terrace to Troubadour Tavern and the Disneyland Hotel Lobby Lounge. With appetizing recipes such as a barbecued brisket dinner platter, a brunch platter laden with comfort food, and a luxurious Barrel-Aged Smoked Old Fashioned cocktail, there's taste and refinement to be found throughout the park's dining experiences this month.
