Bravo! Vail Music Festival Announces Over 30 Free Summer Concerts and Events

Published March 18, 2024

The Bravo! Vail Music Festival is set to provide a culturally enriching experience with its announcement of over 30 free concerts and events. The festival, which marks its 37th edition, will run from June 19 to August 1, 2024, throughout the Vail Valley. Offering a diverse array of performances and educational initiatives, the festival aims to make extraordinary music accessible to all.

A Diverse Range of Free Musical Experiences

This year's lineup includes everything from family-friendly shows to in-depth music appreciation sessions. A notable highlight is the festival's first free community concert at the historic Tabor Opera House in Leadville. Moreover, the event will feature programs involving the first Latin American orchestra at the festival, Sinfónica de Minería, and the opera La bohème by Puccini.

Renowned ensembles and artists such as the Dior Quartet, Akropolis Reed Quintet, Dublin Guitar Quartet, and The Westerlies, alongside 2024 Bravo! Vail Piano Fellows Janice Carissa and Ariel Lanyi, will contribute their talents to the festival. Esteemed performers including members of Sinfónica de Minería and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Pacho Flores, Héctor Molina, William Berger, and Artistic Director Anne-Marie McDermott, will also take part.

Commitment to Community and Education

Caitlin Murray, the executive director of Bravo! Vail, emphasizes the festival's dedication to presenting music that is accessible to everyone in the community. The education and engagement programs will offer a suite of free events with the requirement of prior reservation. These events, designed to reach more communities and cater to bilingual audiences, are a testament to the festival's inclusive approach.

Audiences can look forward to community concerts at various local venues, the Little Listeners @ the Library series targeting the younger audience, and the Inside the Music series which offers deeper insights into the music through discussions and master classes. The festival will also feature nature walks accompanied by music, family concerts, and specially tailored music education programs for local students.

On top of public events, Bravo! Vail continues its commitment to education with free and reduced-cost programs designed for students and partnerships with local organizations.

The festival appreciates the support from various corporate, foundation, and government entities which allow these educational and engagement programs to flourish.
