21st Annual Rockin' Tribute to the King Rocks Yuma Once Again

Published March 8, 2024

It's time for fans of the legendary King of Rock and Roll in Yuma County to celebrate as the 21st Annual Rockin' Tribute to the King returns. Scot Bruce, with his band, is set to perform once again, delivering the iconic hits of Elvis Presley that continue to resonate with audiences of all ages.

A Night of Music and Charity

The homage to the music legend will be held on Friday, March 8th at the Yuma Civic Center. This special event isn't just a regular concert; it's a charitable night that supports the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Yuma County. These advocates help children in the foster care system, and the proceeds from the concert will go towards aiding these children in need.

Scot Bruce, who has transformed his Elvis impersonation into a full-time career, shares his joy in being part of this cause, "We are helping kids who need our help, making a difference in their lives, and that's the best feeling there is," said Bruce.

A Personal Touch to Giving Back

Bruce has a heartfelt attachment to Yuma, citing it as the place where he met his wife, a then-nurse at Yuma Regional Medical Center and active CASA supporter. The original concert, envisaged as a one-time event, has evolved into a two-decade-long tradition, thanks to their initiative.

Community Spirit Keeps the Tradition Alive

The recurring success of the tribute event is a testament to the community's dedication to the cause. Brooke Adams, President of Yuma Council for CASA Inc., highlights the multigenerational appeal of the concert, fostering a community-wide enthusiasm for supporting local children who are less fortunate.

The event encourages families to participate together, with last year's concert drawing attendees across three generations, from grandmothers to their granddaughters.
