Trinity Alps Festival's Upcoming Digital Music and Poetry Event

Published December 15, 2023

The Trinity Alps Chamber Music Festival is hosting a digital concert accessible to all on Monday at 7 p.m. This not-to-be-missed event, which integrates music with land management insights, will be streamed live to audiences. It's part of the unique Fire and Music Project, an initiative supported by a grant that delves into the nuanced relationship between humanity and natural landscapes. This project is especially focused on the concept of prescribed fire, as seen through the artistic interpretations of various creatives.

A New Music Experience

Adapting to a digital format since 2020 due to the pandemic, the festival has successfully conducted over 40 live-streamed performances. This approach has maintained performance opportunities for musicians and broadened audience engagement. Festival co-founder Ellen McGehee, a violinist and host, will introduce The Fire and Music Project. Ellen has played a pivotal role in orchestrating this event that offers insightful reflections on California's connection to its fiery environment.

Featured Artists

The evening's lineup boasts the talents of Ian Scarfe, James Jaffe, and Christina Simpson, who, as the festival's musicians will present a blend of music and exploration. Complementing the melodies will be the spoken word artistry of poet Silvi Alcivar. Furthermore, composer Julie Zhu will grace the event with a special segment. This immersive experience hence provides a fusion of the auditory and literary arts set against the backdrop of ecological awareness.

In order to enjoy this unique event, the public is invited to join for free, though registration is required. Those interested can secure their spot by visiting the official festival website.
