A Musically Rich Collaboration

Robert Plant, the dynamic lead singer of iconic rock band Led Zeppelin, and Alison Krauss, renowned for reviving bluegrass music with her band Union Station, have been a powerful musical pair since their initial collaboration. Their synergy first emerged at a 2004 tribute concert and continued with the release of 'Raising Sand' in 2007. The album was a resounding success, securing five Grammy Awards, including the coveted Album of the Year and Record of the Year for their song 'Please Read the Letter'.

From Past Projects to New Beginnings

Despite starting a second album in 2009 with producer Daniel Lanois, Plant and Krauss decided to move on from the unfinished project. Plant humorously attributed the halt in production to an overabundance of confectionery and beverages leading to a lull in the creative process. Post the collaborative hiatus, Plant established various musical ventures, including the Band of Joy and later, bands like the Sensational Space Shifters and Saving Grace.

Krauss, a Grammy powerhouse with 27 wins, maintained a quieter presence in the studio, releasing 'Paper Airplane' with Union Station in 2011 and her solo project 'Windy City' in 2017. Despite their separate paths, the duo came back together in 2021 with their album 'Raise the Roof,' which featured covers of influential artists and earned them three more Grammy nominations.
