N*SYNC Reunites at Justin Timberlake's L.A. Concert

Published March 15, 2024

Fans of the iconic boy band N*SYNC received a delightful surprise during Justin Timberlake's recent Los Angeles performance. Timberlake, famous for both his solo success and his membership in the group, took attendees on a journey back to the early 2000s by reuniting with his former bandmates on stage. The event took place at the Wiltern, where Timberlake was promoting his new solo album titled Everything I Thought It Was.

Timeless Tunes and New Melodies

The evening transformed into a nostalgic trip when Timberlake introduced Lance Bass, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, and Chris Kirkpatrick to the stage. The group ignited the crowd by performing several notable N*SYNC classics. Starting with 'Gone,' they continued with a medley of other beloved tracks like 'It's Gonna Be Me,' 'Girlfriend,' and the unforgettable 'Bye Bye Bye.'

A Reunion Long Awaited

This marked a rare moment—the first group performance with all members since their 2013 appearance at the VMAs. While N*SYNC had a cameo without Timberlake at Coachella in 2019 with Ariana Grande, this occasion at the Wiltern was unique in featuring the complete original lineup. Moreover, Timberlake delighted fans with a teaser of what seemed like future collaborations, sparking excitement for what's to come.

In addition to the classics, the band also gave fans a taste of something new. They performed 'Paradise,' Timberlake's recent solo release, which virtually reunites N*SYNC's vocal prowess. This performance paralleled a collaboration from the previous year, where the group vocally joined forces in the studio for a single called 'Better Place' from the animated movie 'Trolls: Band Together.'

Looking Forward

Following a mixed reception to his 2018 album, 'Man of the Woods,' and grappling with criticisms from past actions, Timberlake seems to be embracing his boy band roots enthusiastically. The reunion at the Wiltern has not only stirred up past affections amongst fans but has also opened the door to the possibility of more N*SYNC projects in the near future.

The revelation that there might be more to look forward to in the N*SYNC universe came directly from Timberlake during an interview with Kelly Clarkson. He hinted at new material and the undeniable chemistry that the band members still share. Timberlake is set to embark on a solo tour starting April 29 in Vancouver, leaving many to wonder if any more surprise reunions may occur.
