Mr Leo Set to Release Tri-Lingual Album 'Good Vibes'

Published March 2, 2024

Cameroonian musician Mr Leo is poised to captivate multilingual audiences with his upcoming album titled 'Good Vibes', slated for release in March. Known for his smooth fusion of Afrobeats with Cameroon's native mbolé music, his new work promises an eclectic mix of languages and sounds.

From Choir Boy to Mbolé-Pop Sensation

Born Fonyuy Leonard Nsohburinka and popularly known as Mr Leo, the artist first seized the airwaves with his hit single 'E Go Betta' in 2015. His journey was not without challenges; having faced opposition from his father, a military man who envisioned a medical career for his son, music prevailed as Mr Leo's destined path. Embracing the freedom and control music offered, he built a world where he expressed himself beyond constraints.

The Struggle and Inspiration

Mr Leo's craft and perspective have been shaped by the ongoing conflict in Cameroon. The violence in the English-speaking regions of the country displaced him from his hometown and took the lives of many he knew. Through this hardship, Mr Leo found purpose in his voice, seeking to offer solace and advocacy through his music.

His third album 'Good Vibes' manifests Mr Leo's vision for unity and positive change. Singing in English, French, and Lamso, the 14-track album carries the ethos of 'One Love' and is filled with optimistic lyrics and spirited melodies—an audible response to world's tumultuous times.
