Published January 30, 2024

In an expression of dedicated service, Musician 1st Class Thomas Eby, hailing from South Bend, Ind., and Chief Musician Jonathon Yanik of Simsbury, have both decided to extend their careers in the United States Navy by re-enlisting.

Commitment to Service

The decision to re-enlist represents a significant commitment to their roles in the Navy Band, showcasing their passion for both their musical craft and their country. Re-enlistment is a ceremonial tradition that underscores the ongoing dedication of service members.

A Ceremonial Affair

The solemnity of renewing one's service was given due respect in a ceremony presided over by Capt. Ken Collins, of Reno, Nev. As the commanding officer of the Navy Band, Capt. Collins led the proceedings, marking yet another chapter in these musicians' naval careers.

Re-enlistment ceremonies are not only pivotal moments for the service members involved but also serve as an affirmation of the Navy's values and the individual's commitment to duty, honor, and country.
