Jay Z's Roc Nation Brunch Won't Take Place This Grammy Weekend

Published February 4, 2024

For music A-listers and celebrities, there's one event during the Grammy weekend that trumps all others, and it's not the Grammys themselves. This event is the distinguished Roc Nation brunch, hosted by none other than hip-hop mogul Jay Z. This invite-only affair is not just a party; it's a celebration of Black excellence, boasting attendance from some of the biggest names in entertainment. However, this year, fans and stars alike are faced with disappointing news: the famed brunch is reportedly off the calendar.

No Roc Nation Brunch This Year

The Roc Nation brunch first started in 2011 but had to pause for two years due to the pandemic. It made a comeback last year, but the 2023 celebration is unexpectedly not going to take place. Previously, the event has seen illustrious guests like Rihanna, Janelle Monae, Kevin Hart, and many more.

Award Season Parties Abound Despite Cancellation

While the iconic brunch won't occur, stars have no shortage of events to attend during Grammy week. Various other parties are being held across Los Angeles, keeping the festive spirit alive. Additionally, Jay Z and Beyoncé are slated to attend Clive Davis' pre-Grammy gala to honor Jon Platt of Sony Music Publishing.

Grammys Still Set to Shine

The Grammy Awards themselves are set to air with Trevor Noah returning as host. Stars like SZA and Jon Batiste are among the nominees, and the program will feature performances from artists including Victoria Monét. Another highlight includes a duet performance of Tracy Chapman's "Fast Car" by country singer Luke Combs and Tracy Chapman herself.
