Usher's Name Surfaces in New Sexual Harassment Lawsuit Against Diddy

Published February 28, 2024

At the start of this week, reports came to light about a sexual harassment lawsuit targeting Sean 'Diddy' Combs. Filed by producer Rodney “Lil Rod Madeit” Jones, who has worked on Diddy’s project The Love Album: Off The Grid, the legal action throws not just Diddy into the questionable spotlight but also entangles associated figures such as Diddy's son Justin Combs, chief of staff Kristina Khorram, Sir Lucian Grainge of Universal Music Group, and former Motown Records CEO Ethiopia Habtemariam. The defendants are accused of either participating in questionable conduct or neglecting to properly deal with complaints brought against Diddy.

Names roped into the lawsuit started to raise eyebrows, especially that of Usher. In the midst of this case, Usher himself is not facing any direct allegations or a defendant position. Nevertheless, a segment from the lawsuit documents, albeit redacted, caught the public's attention. DJ Akademiks pieced together clues from the footnotes to deduce the identities behind the censored sections. According to the lawsuit, "Mr. Combs informed Mr. Jones that he had engaged in sexual intercourse with a rapper, an R&B singer, and Stevie J," leaving hints in the footnotes. The rapper was hinted to be one who 'dated Nicki Minaj', leading to the conclusion that it is Meek Mill. The R&B singer – a performer at the Super Bowl with a successful Vegas residency – was speculated to be Usher.

With no evidence to substantiate these claims, they should be met with cautious skepticism. Celebrity legal disputes have a history of revealing scandalous particulars likely to attract attention and hasten settlements. While it's true that Diddy settled a past sexual assault lawsuit brought against him by his former partner Cassie, he argues that subsequent lawsuits are merely opportunistic attempts to extract money.
