Excitement fills the air as the weekend in Cyprus is set to come alive with a host of cultural events ranging from film festivals to art exhibitions and concerts. These events highlight the talent of the nation’s rising artists and offer an array of artistic experiences for everyone to enjoy.

Palestinian Film Festival – Lemesos Makes Its Debut

The inaugural Palestinian Film Festival – Lemesos kicks off this weekend, opening a week-long celebration of Palestinian cinema. This event will feature award-winning shorts, features, and documentaries from Palestinian filmmakers. The screenings, which start on Thursday and go on until the following Thursday, are available to the public for free and will be held across four locations in the old town of Limassol at Synergio Independent Theatre, Neme Arts Centre, Tapper Bar- Cinema Club, and Sto Dromo Cultural & Alternative Bar.

Art Exhibitions Tap Into Themes of Love and Retrospection

In Limassol, Art Studio 55 proudly presents the Eros Art 2024 group art exhibition, where nine artists explore the theme of love through their artwork. The pieces, mostly paintings, also delve into the enchanting elements of nature. This exhibition will open its doors on Friday at 7pm and welcome visitors until February 25.

Moving to Nicosia, the black and white world of photography comes to life at the isnotgallery. The exhibition En Somati, featuring the expressive work of Antigone Solomonidou-Drousiotou, will run from Friday until March 2.

Film and Music Enrich Paphos and Nicosia

Film enthusiasts in Paphos can relish the awarded short films from the 13th International Short Film Festival Cyprus, being showcased for the very first time in the city on Saturday evening at the Attikon Multicultural Space. And on Sunday, a spectacular piano concert titled Fairy Tales and Folk Tunes II will offer a musical feast at the Markideio Theatre with performances starting at 6.30pm.

The capital, Nicosia, will not be left out of the musical blend with two evening performances scheduled at the Nicosia Municipal Theatre as part of the Nicosia International Festival. Attendees will be treated to Jo Loui’s soulful concert and Salty River band’s album showcase on Sunday.
