A shooting incident has left a 26-year-old man critically wounded after he was shot in the head at the renowned Music Building in Midtown Manhattan, known for its recording studios and rehearsal spaces. The attack occurred in the early hours of Friday morning.

Search for Suspects After Midtown Shooting

Police reported that the shooting took place shortly after 12:40 a.m. on the 11th floor of the iconic Music Building located on 8th Avenue. Four suspects are currently being sought after they were observed fleeing the area on foot immediately following the gunfire.

Victim Hospitalized in Critical Condition

Authorities confirmed the victim, a Bronx resident, sustained at least one gunshot wound to his head and was promptly transported to Bellevue Hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Despite the severity of the incident, police have yet to determine whether the victim was specifically targeted by the assailants or his relation to the building's studios. One of the suspects has been described as a male in his 20s, seen wearing a black Nike sweatshirt, while details on the other three remain unclear.

Since its establishment in 1979, the Music Building has earned a reputation as one of New York City's most historic music rehearsal spaces, offering 69 studios that have hosted many world-famous musicians including Madonna, Billy Idol, and The Strokes. The facility provides 24-hour access to its tenants and has been a staple in the music community for decades.
