Yu & I Duo to Enchant at Sterling Concert Series on Saturday

Published February 14, 2024

The Sterling community is eagerly anticipating an enchanted musical evening as 'Yu & I' prepares to perform in the third concert of the 2023-2024 Sterling Concert Series. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 17, at 7:00 p.m., at the Sterling Middle School.

A Musical Bond Forged Across Continents

YuEun Kim, a native of Korea, and Ines Thome, who hails from Germany, crossed paths for the first time in 2013. Both found themselves in the U.S., looking to advance their musical studies. The setting of an old Victorian building in Los Angeles became their home, sharing not only living space but also a passion for chamber music and Korean cuisine. Through this shared experience, their bond over music strengthened while both were attending USC’s Thornton School of Music.

Celebrating Folk Traditions with Virtuosity

Yu & I promises a concert filled with the rustic charm of folk music from their own cultures and beyond. With expertise in the guitar and violin, these two artists are set to deliver an exceptional performance. The program lineup boasts a diverse set, with 'Romanian Folk Dances', 'Mountain Songs', 'Die Forelle', 'Kuejina Chigching Nanae', and various other global compositions.

Adding a touch of relaxation to Income Tax Day, this concert is also slated for a 7:00 pm start at the same venue.
