Colorado Springs Group Delivers Musical Healing in Israel

Published December 14, 2023

In the face of ongoing conflict, a team of 74 individuals from Colorado Springs extended their support to Israel—a country marred by violence. Over recent weeks, this dedicated group fulfilled various roles, from preparing meals for soldiers and engaging children in creative activities, to the thoughtful act of planting trees in memory of the many lives tragically lost.

Harmonies of Hope

A noteworthy endeavor undertaken by the group involved bringing the soothing power of music to the troubled region. Embracing the universal language of melodies and harmonies, Colorado Springs musicians transformed hotel lobbies into impromptu venues for solace and peace.

Mark Tedder, among the group, recalled how their music initiative in hotel lobbies was warmly welcomed by the staff, with requests to have them perform there. When the conflict intensified on October 7 with hostilities from Hamas, Tedder's connections in Israel reached out, expressing a dire need for musical inspiration and guidance.

The pressing appeal for support from local Israelis reinforced the Colorado Springs group's conviction in their mission—a mission deeply rooted in their experience and passion for mentoring musicians and worship leaders.

A Mission to Continue

The impact of their initial visit only strengthened their resolve to return to Haifa. They seek to impart healing through music, believing in its capacity to cut through the pervasive gloom endured by the Israeli people, many of whom are struggling to cope with the darkness of the recent months.

Tedder and his team are preparing to go back with the same fervor for helping through music, hopeful that their contributions will act as a beacon of light amid the shadows of conflict.
