One Piece's Iconic Music Moments Now Streamable for Free

Published February 8, 2024

During last summer's heated anime season, Monkey D. Luffy of One Piece fame catapulted into the limelight as one of manga and anime's standout protagonists. The excitement reached fever pitch with the reveal of Gear 5, sending ripples of enthusiasm throughout the internet. This pivotal transformation scene not only entranced fans but set the stage for a long-anticipated release.

Official Soundtrack Launch

Toei Animation has stepped up to provide a special musical treat by officially releasing the soundtrack that accompanies the Gear 5 arc. Previously, fans had to content themselves with fan-made versions of the show's music, which lacked the polish and endorsement of the official score. However, the authentic soundtrack is now freely available, and fans can savor the compositions that underscored some of the most dramatic moments in the anime.

Finding the Official Music

Although the quest for the original versions of One Piece's soundtrack can be somewhat tricky, as Toei Animation has not directly uploaded the music to its own channels, there is a solution. The official release comes courtesy of Kohei Tanaka, the composer behind the gripping sounds that resonate throughout the Wano arc's climax.

A Treat for Fans

The album, officially titled 'ONE PIECE Original Soundtrack “GEAR5,”' has been made available on platforms like YouTube and Spotify. Enthusiasts can now listen to 31 tracks, including the music that defined Luffy's most significant evolution at the construction site. While this release covers the Gear 5 arc, the rest of One Piece's musical repertoire remains largely inaccessible in official form. This move may, however, signal a turn of the tide, as more of the anime's ostentatious orchestral pieces might find their way to public platforms in the future.
